About this Project:
My project is an illustrated book comprised of six fables adapted from the writings of the Ancient Greek storyteller Aesop. All six fables featured are centred around nature, each demonstrating a moral lesson. My illustration and design process have been informed by the Arts and Crafts Movement of the late 19th century, which advocated for a return to hand-crafted design. The illustrations have been hand-painted and collaged, with the typography being typed using a typewriter, or written by hand, all before being edited digitally. This process fuses together the physical and the digital; the hand and the machine. The book that will be on show at the grad show is an adaption of a bespoke art book submitted as part of my honours project.
